Telamon Corporation is a HUD Certified MSO (Multi State Organization for 10 states) Non Profit Housing Counseling Agency. Educational and consumer services include financial literacy training, foreclosure prevention and mitigation services, transitional housing and self-help housing development options. In recent years, our focus has grown to include people struggling with pending foreclosures and loss of a home. In all cases, projects are focused on helping families work toward a sound financial future, and acquire a housing solution that is right for them.
Additionally, we provide assistance for new housing design, single and multi-family housing development, farm labor housing development, low-income housing tax credit projects, training and technical assistance and assistance to help farmers and growers to repair and up-grade their farm labor housing.
In the counties of Wake, Durham, Johnston, Franklin, Lee and Harnett. Telamon partners with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency by providing mortgage foreclosure prevention counseling assistance to families in developing and submitting applications for the Mortgage Payment Program offered by the NC Foreclosure Prevention Fund. This program helps North Carolina homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgage due to job loss or other temporary financial hardships. If your goal is to obtain employment that will allow you to keep your home, it can provide temporary assistance to pay your mortgage while you search or train for a new job. All counseling services and financial assistance is provided at no cost to you.
The NC Foreclosure Prevention Fund offers zero-interest, deferred loans up to $24,000 to cover your mortgage and related expenses for up to 24 months. If you live in one of the counties with the highest unemployment, you may be eligible for up to $36,000 over 36 months. The loan can also be used to bring your mortgage current.
